Viewbotting is generally a term for fraudulent act that can be found in various streaming websites. But, even if this is not totally linked to any websites, this viewbotting is commonly found on Twitch. Games are restricted from broadcast based on two criteria: The official ESRB rating is Adults Only*; The game violates our Community Guidelines as it applies to hate speech, sex, nudity, gratuitous gore, or extreme violence. * Alternate versions of Adults Only titles with an ESRB rating of Mature or lower are permitted, including Mature versions of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Fahrenheit Currently, viewbotting is not illegal and is considered a civil matter for now. Nevertheless, there is always the chance that a streamer viewbotting could be tried in court for wire fraud, but so far, that has yet to happen. Twitch has been vigorously dealing with the viewbotting epidemic. That being said; ALL viewbots are a risk to your long term growth as a streamer. 1. TwitchBooster [Most Realistic Views] TwitchBooster offers an automated service full of “real” Twitch users and followers. The program offers to not only give your views a boost but to also give your follower count a boost. Say for example CS:GO skins betting. It’s banned from Twitch, yet fully allowed to do on YouTube. It’s a great example and a great way to exploit the growth hacks you can do in between the medias of your choosing. So using a twitch viewers bot to build a good rapor on Twitch to later on exploit that on your YouTube channel is a great idea. The solution to viewbotting is to make getting discovered on twitch more attainable. People bot because they feel they need to, because when 90% of the viewers are the top 3 channels, and you’re at the bottom of the directory, its not a matter of how entertaining you are, its about finding somebody, anybody to even look at your channel. viewbotting obviously is not allowed. its also not an easy "just ban this user for viewbotting" issue, as much as everyone wants it to be. if you suspect someone botting, report them, and twitch will handle it accordingly. Twitch will not punish a user for the actions of another. If you are not responsible for botting, Twitch will not take action against you. If you believe you are being targeted, we recommend following the steps below. Report: You may report any user(s) claiming to be responsible or offering botting services to you by filing a user report. However, considering Twitch only bans users who have been accused of ‘viewbotting’ when they have proof, the claims are probably a little less unsubstantiated than GunsAndGlitch repeatedly Viewbotting is definitely not allowed according to the Twitch Terms of Service, and will get you banned if you do it! Now, for those of you who have been viewbotted against your will, don't worry, you won't get in trouble if you're not involved.
