Was Creed the reason Jim just walks in and kisses Pam in the office on Casino Night?

Just going through a rewatch here and in season 5 episode 16, Andy runs out to Oscar and Creed freaking out about asking that client out. After Oscar rushes to his desk, Creed gives Andy advice on what to do. He talks about just talking charge and going in there and kiss her. Andy says how it seems risky and that's when Creed says, "Have I ever steered you wrong, Jim?". I used to just think that it was Creed being Creed but now it's making me wonder if Jim had a little talk with Creed too after his confession to Pam.

[The Office US] Jim and Pam kissed twice on Casino Night.

Slamming through The Office on Netflix and I caught something.
The Season 2 Finale "Casino Night" is known for having the cliffhanger ending where Jim kisses Pam. Here it is for those of you who haven't seen it and need your heart warmed.
In the Season 3 opener, "Gay Witch Hunt," it's revealed in a flashback to the scene that after the kiss, Pam tells Jim that even though she has feelings for him, she's still going to marry her fiance Roy (Youtube does not have a clip of this scene, so just imagine a mace beating your heart over and over again).
The thing is, in each of these scenes, the kisses are different. In "Casino Night," Jim kisses Pam, and they look at each other like they don't know what to do next. "Gay Witch Hunt" opens the scene with the two mid-kiss, and when it's over Jim smiles and says "You have no idea how long I wanted to do that."
Any other show, you could give a little suspension of belief due to the difficulty of shooting the exact same scene after a season break. But "The Office" is meant to be a documentary. The camera crew exists within the show, so when the footage isn't the same... it isn't the same.
My theory is that Jim kissed Pam on Casino Night, then after he let her go, she kissed him back. That's why he looks more confident after the kiss in the flashback.
It's a small theory for a big moment.

Can we talk about how good Casino Night is?

When talking about the best episodes of the Office, you always see Dinner Party, Stress Relief, Niagara, and a few others, but Casino Night may just be the best of the bunch.
Obviously there’s lots of great humor in it - the exchange between Michael and Toby in the beginning (“Why are you the way that you are?”), Kevin being a great poker player, Michael’s love triangle drama. But what sticks out to me is the Jim and Pam scene in the parking lot.
Both John and Jenna really act the crap out of that scene, and it always makes me a little emotional.
I’ll go ahead and say it: Casino Night is the best episode of the Office.

Finished the show yesterday for the first time and here's my seasons ranking:

  1. Season 8-I really didn't like this season,it's actually the only season I didn't like. It's one huge mess.I really disliked Robert California and Nellie(she got better in S9).I didn't like Andy being main character(I like him,but he was never one of my favourite characters). And this was Jim's and Pam's least interesting season. This season was just not good, neither funny.
  2. Season 9-Altough this seasons is definitely weaker than rest of the show,it's definitely better than Season 8.Last 3 episodes(especially Finale) redeem this season in every way possible. There is not basically anything redeeming about S8.Also there were some good episodes in this season like Work Bus,The Boat,The Whale,Dwight Christmas and Lice.Again, definitely weaker than rest of the show, but undoubtedly better than S8.
  3. Season 1-I like this season. It introduces all the characters we love and care about.Pilot is not great, but Diversity day and Basketball are classics.Just hated Michael's hair😁
  4. Season 6-This season is very good, just not that great.I didn't like Sabre and it has one of weaker season finales, but still there are a lot of great episodes.Niagara and Delivery are classic episodes.I also like Gossip,The Lover,Koi Pond,Double Date,Murder,Shareholder Meeting,Happy hour,Secret Santa,Scott's Tots.Again, very good season, with dozen of great episodes, just not top 5.
  5. Season 7-Michael's beautiful send-off season.This is undoubtedly best season after show's peak(S2-S5).In my opinion,this season has 5 classic episodes:Classy Christmas,Threat Level Midnight,Garage Sale,Michael's Last Dundies and of course,Goodbye Michael.Except these five episodes there are also a few pretty good episodes like Nepotism,Counseling,Andy's play,China,The Search,PDA,Ultimatum.Great season,deserves top 5 spot,despite having a few forgettable episodes.
  6. Season 5-Amazing season.I enjoyed this season a lot and had a lot of laughs. It also has one of the top 5 funniest episodes-Stress Relief.I enjoyed Michael Scott Paper Company arc and loved Michael and Pam's friendship in these episodes.Amazing season, just tiny less consistent than S2-S4 but definitely belongs to the show's prime.
  7. Season 2-I didn't like this season that much when I was watching until near the end because it took me a lot to get into this show, but now I realise how great it is.It's almost perfect season. So many great episodes, legendary Dundies,The Injury,Christmas Party,Dwight's Speech,Conflict Resolution,Office Olympics,Casino Night and so on.It's just so good.
  8. Season 4-This season is close to perfection,shame it wasn't a bit longer.Fun Run,Dunder Mifflin Infinity,Money,The Deposition,Dinner Party and Goodbye Toby,just to name a few.Iconic season.
1.Season 3-Most consistently funny season in The Office.A lot of tension, drama and brilliant awkwardness.I think Michael was at his best in this season(Gay Witch Hunt and The Convict come to mind).Perfect season.
Season ranking from 5th to 9th is fixed.First 4 spots are interchangeable because they are all amazing seasons. But I think this is the best ranking of them.
Also I would like to hear your opinions and your rankings in comments.

The office is a really toxic show

Okay okay hear me out. I loved the office I feel like I must have watched it through a dozen times, I’d probably be watching it now if not for my SO cheating on me. She received a gift from her AP and it was one of those stupid music boxes that played the theme some; I smashed it of course, how dare she bring it home let alone recive it but I digress. That show is a cesspool of cheating and shitty relationships.
Pam is engaged to Roy when she kisses Jim initially, then then emotionally cheats on Jim with the sound guy. Kathy tried to get Jim to cheat with her in Florida. The running joke with Stanley is that he is cheating on his wife with at least one woman if not more regularly and the he cheats on them too. Angela has a secret relationship with Dwight, cheats on him with Andy, gets engaged to Andy and cheats on him with Dwight. When they find out she mentions that it’s not the first time two Guys have fought over her, I’m sure another cheating scenario. Kelly cheats on Daryl with Ryan, and then the pediatrician also with Ryan, Ryan apparently cheats on her all the time. Michael when on a date with pams friend gets picked up by a married bartender and carries out a relationship with her all the while she’s married. He also gets turned down by his landlord for casino night and picks up his plan b, Jan, only to have his landlord un-cancel and he has to juggle two women for the night, the same night pam kisses Jim again after Roy trusts him to take care of her. Oh he took care of her alright. Andy drives to Florida to pick up Erin while he’s dating Jessica and has to stop on the way back; after he gets her, to break up with her only to pussy out the first time and have to go back to do it the second time. Phyllis likes to hit on guys at the bar and have bob vance beat them up. Not to kink shame here but if they’re getting beat up afterwards it sounds like bob isn’t involved in the planning stage. And then she’s worried about him cheating on her with his secretary in the cafe disco episode? Guilt manifests in insecurity’s.
I’m sure I missed some but looking at it from my position now this show is a pretty shitty toxic show for everyone to be obsessed with like we are

I finally finished watching The Office for the first time!

After my PC died(I miss you so much, buddy) I've got nothing else to do. Then, one day while browsing Youtube, a video got recommended to me. It's a clip from the office. It's a video compilation of Jim pranking Dwight. I've seen a lot of memes that originate from The Office and got me interested in watching it. After like a month, I finally finished it! It was such a good ride. I laughed, I cried, I cringed. The first time time Jim kisses Pam during Casino Night, The time Holly found Michael and they kisses during The Search and The time Dwight finally became the Regional Manager, I love them all! Thank you so much Dunder Mifflin Scranton from the very bottom of my heart! PS: English is not my first language :D

Jim and pam’s first kiss at the dundies

Jim and Pam kissed at the dundies which is something no one ever acknowledges at the time or ever again, no one told Roy, and Jim says that the first time they kissed was right outside Michael’s office. Is this because he knew she was super drunk? Maybe that’s why on casino night Pam asks Jim if they’re drunk but regardless they still kissed at the dundies and no one batted an eye and it was never brought up again.

How I rank the office seasons

  1. Season 9, even though the office felt more like your daily job, it felt dull because of no cringe comedy which was what made the show funny and many writers left the show like B.J. Novak and Mindy Kaling. Favorite episode, Finale
  2. Season 1, although there are a few good episodes, its dull, This is the worst Michael season because he is rude and repulsive. However I liked diversity day and Basketball. Favorite episode, Basketball
  3. Season 6, I did not like Jim as manager, his character is built off of finding the excitement of a boring job, but when you take away the pranks and the fun, you are left with a boring character in a boring job, Also they tried to make Jim a villain which I did not like. Also there are a lot of dull episodes like Mafia and the plot of Michael and Donna . Favorite episode, Niagara
  4. Season 8, This is an unpopular opinion, but I like season 8, Andy steps up and slowly finds his confidence in the manager position, which I liked. Robert California is a rather weird character, I always found myself liking him or hating him. Another unpopular opinion is that I liked the Sabre store plot, it shows more life outside the office. Favorite episode, Garden party, pool party, or after hours
  5. Season 7, This w as my favorite Michael season due to the fact that he grows and you see how sad his life is like in counseling. Also, Holly's return and Michael's relationship with her is really special. But, there are a few dull episodes in the start of the season like Christening and the sting. Favorite episode, Goodbye Michael
  6. Season 4, season 4 was a very good season because this expands the office's setting like in Dinner party and survivor man, but also keeps your day to day lifestyle in the office. However, due to the writers strike they didn't continue the season more which I didn't like. Favorite episode, dinner party.
  7. Season 5, This is a very unpopular opinion but, I liked season 5 a lot, Holly and Michael's relationship, Michael Scott paper company was one of the best and last ideas for this show and of course stress relief, which in my opinion is the best episode of all time. Favorite episode, Stress relief.
  8. Season 3, I think it was a very good idea brining Jim to Stamford because it showed what other branches were like without the craziness of the Scranton branch. Also, season 2 and 3 were the best seasons due to the fact that there were many ideas like Diwali, Gay witch hunt, Jan and Michael, and the merging of the branches. Favorite episode, Gay witch hunt.
  9. Season 2, Of course this was the best season and I think that was because of Michael. You see, the shows writers change him in a way to differentiate him from David Brent like changing his appearance and his humor but also, keeping the charm shown in the first season. Also, coming up with stupid things like the dundies to show he cares about his coworkers. Also, Pam and Jim was a pillar of the Office and this was the prime of their relationship because it showed that they were each others best friends and of course, Jim putting it all on the line and telling Pam he loves her. Favorite episodes, the fire, Casino night, the injury, The dundies , office Olympics, the fight, email surveillance, and the client.
Thank you for reading this and remember, RYAN STARTED THE FIRE!!!

Back from Vacation Fact List

I feel like no one has talked about this here, but my jaw actually dropped at the fan question about the two psychologists named Levinson and Gould who studied the midlife crisis. That's an amazing connection even though it's a coincidence! These are the kind of fan questions they should be talking about.

Top 10 Essential Office Episodes

Inspired by this post on AV Club (https://tv.avclub.com/tracing-the-office-s-rise-from-midseason-also-ran-to-ni-1798237948) it got me thinking about what my top 10 would be. And what you all would come up with.
Now this isn't your Top 10 favorite episodes. That would be different. Instead, this is the Top 10 Essential episodes of The Office. Which 10 episodes would you point someone new to so they could get the biggest story points of the series, the biggest relationship moments. That 10 episodes that would tie the beginning to the end and the growth of the series as a whole.
Here would be my Top 10 (order of release. And these are not set in stone - you can and probably will convince me otherwise).
Diversity Day (Season 1, Episode 2) - The pilot is the pilot, and too much like the original. But this one they start stepping outside that box and start creating some character moments and beats that would continue. From Michael's blindness to things he shouldn't do, to Jim caring about the Pam moments above all else.
The Client (Season 2, Episode 7) - I was torn between this and Dundies. They both show more depth in Michael. But I ultimately went with this because not only does it show that Michael is good at his job, but the beginning of his relationship with Jan.
Booze Cruise (Season 2, Episode 11) - So many from Season 2 I wanted to pick and it was hard. Booze Cruise is a good episode for Jim and Michael growth as Jim decides what he wants. And Michael shows he can be there for his employees.
Casino Night (Season 2, Episode 22) - Playing as a 1-2 punch with Booze Cruise, this is obviously a huge Jim-Pam episode. Plus just a fun episode overall and sets the stage for the first half of Season 3.
Gay Witch Hung (Season 3, Episode 1) - Kind of felt like a reset for the show almost with Jim gone and a new setting introduced that would bring us some characters we would spend time with, and Andy. Plus the whole Michael-Oscar story is hilarious.
The Negotiation (Season 3, Episode 18) - A lot of character development here with Dwight, Angela, Jim, Michael, Jan and Darryl. Really enjoyed the Angela sub-plot that shows us more of her personality, and also goes into Michael and his love of the industry and company.
Dinner Party (Season 4, Episode 9) - I mean, this episode is so cringe worthy, but it is comedic gold. Plus we get to see the relationships develop outside the office.
Goodbye, Toby (Season 4, Episode 14) - This episode helped set up the second half of Michael's journey to who he would become as Holly is introduced. Plus we get the Andy proposal, Jim almost-proposal and the ending with Dwight and Angela.
Goodbye, Michael (Season 7, Episode 21) - Funny, I never realized until now the name similarity between Michael and Toby's goodbye episodes. I would have loved to include an episode in between the end of season 4 and near the end of season 7, but it was hard to fit one in here. This episode speaks for itself.
Finale (Season 9, Episode 23) - Let's just skip over all the Robert California and Andy becoming a terrible person stuff and get right to the end. If someone is going to get the spark notes, they want to know how it ends. And while the latter seasons maybe didn't hit the same notes for me as the early seasons, there was a lot to like and I loved the finale.

This is a very good fan theory that was made by u/flaming_muffins that didn't get enough recognition.

The Office – Roy’s Affair Fan Theory
I’ve seen The Office from start to finish at least 8 times so I guess you could say I’m a pretty big fan. After a few times watching the show I began to formulate a fan theory. As far as I know, I am the first person to propose this and I have never seen it anywhere else on the internet.
The Theory: Roy had an affair with Angela at some point during his relationship/engagement Pam.
GASP
Here’s the evidence seen directly in the show:
• In the episode “The Fire” (s2e14) Roy says he’d hook up with Angela in the game “Who would you do?” showing that he has attraction towards her.
• In the episode “Casino Night” (s2ep22), Michael is opening the casino as Lady Fortune and he says “Old friends! New lovers!” and then there’s a shot of Roy and Angela sharing glances at each other (sort of the “let’s hook up” kind of glance). Then later in that episode, before Jim shares his feeling for Pam, we see Roy take off early from the casino night. Where was he going? To go hook up with Angela! Now I know this is stretching it but it makes sense given all of the rest of the evidence.
• In the episode “Cocktails” (s3ep18) you can briefly hear audio of Roy asking everybody at the bar if they want a drink and you can hear Angela saying something like “Oh, no thank you Roy, I’m…”. This line on its own doesn’t mean much but its more the way she says it that interests me. She sounds very flustered, the way a girl talking their crush sounds.
• In the same episode, when Pam says that she wants no secrets between her and Roy, Roy instantly becomes defensive and says that he totally could have done something (implying an affair) but he didn’t. The way he says this is definitely suspicious and is absolutely not convincing that he is innocent of an affair.
o This is a bit more of a stretch but it’s worth noting that this episode of The Office was directed by JJ Abrams. For those of you who haven’t seen JJ’s Lost, this TV show was full of small, hidden details that are very specific to JJ’s style. Even The Force Awakens had its own little curiosities. Most notably the cliff hanger ending (pun!) and the whole “who is Rey’s father?” thing.
• In the episode “The Negotiation” (s3ep19) Angela has more of her flustered speaking when Roy comes to get his last paycheck. She calls him “very strong” and Kevin snickers in the background (maybe Kevin knew about the affair, the way he knows about Oscar’s affair later on in the show).
Now let’s consider Angela’s role in all of this:
First off, we know that Angela is not shy when it comes to having multiple lovers at once. She cheated on Andy with Dwight, cheated on the senator with Dwight, and also mentioned two people named John dueling over her when she was “living in Ohio” (s5ep18). We also know that Angela has a strong hatred for Pam. This is seen countless times throughout the show. I believe this hatred might be because Roy chose to remain engaged to Pam, basically choosing Pam over her. She might have felt that without Pam, she could have had a stronger relationship with Roy.
Conclusion: Given this evidence, I believe it can be firmly stated that Roy cheated on Pam with Angela at some point during their relationship.

My life has become too similar to Jim's

About 6 months ago a new girl started at my work in a position that I worked very close with. We became friends pretty quickly and even started hanging out sometimes after work. After a few months I started developing feelings for her, the only problem was she is engaged. I knew I couldn't really advance our relationship, all I could do is become close friends with her and that would have to be enough for me. We hung out a lot together at work and were at each other's desks all the time. We eat lunch together everyday and walk in and out together.
It was no surprise that rumors started going around the office that we were dating. Not long after this my boss took me aside and told me about the rumors and questioned me on what our relationship was. I told him mostly the truth, that we were just friends and she was engaged. I did not tell him I had feelings for her. He told me that we needed to back away from each-other while at work, that it was not showing well for each of us and was not professional. So basically I had to pretend not to be in a relationship with her when I couldn't even have one with her in the first place. She was also given the same talk by our boss and she assured him we were not in any type of romantic relationship. We talked a lot about what to do and what boundaries to set. I told her that our friendship means a lot to me and she said the same.
I had really not planned on confessing my feelings to her yet but with all this going on I just decided to go for it. I told her how I felt about her. She took it pretty well all things considered. I'm guessing she already knew or had a strong suspicion how I felt. She told me that she is always going to be with her fiance and that we are just friends and that she wants us to still be friends. This was my "Casino Night" moment, except there was definitely no kiss afterward. I'm also not transferring to a different branch as there is none with our company. It will be interesting to see how things play out, but I am not very optimistic for a Jim/Pam like happy ending.
Anyways, just thought you guys would like to read about how a real life Jim/Pam relationship at the office turns out. Thanks for reading.
P.S. As if my life needed to be any more like The Office, we also have a socially awkward coworker that her and I like to play pranks on.

Personal pair ups for characters, MAJOR SPOILERS(like, pretty much everything)

I know that their are people who feel like Jim should’ve ended up with Karen, I am one of those people. I’m not going to waste your time telling you why, their are plenty of other posts that will explain it better than I could. I’m just going to tell you the ripples of implications that this would’ve/could’ve had on the show, and how in the end, it all works out better for everyone.
If Jim had stayed in love with Karen, Pam would’ve never married him, and eventually Toby would work up the courage to ask her out, we know this because Toby at several times in the show, says that he always liked Pam, and when Toby leaves, Pam says that she always thought that he was “kinda cute”. Roy would’ve started to date Angela, for several reasons, the podcast The Office Ladies touches on them, but they are, 1. At casino night, when Michael says “old friends, new lovers”, the share a secretive glance, 2. When Ryan starts a fire and they are playing “who would you do”, Roy says that if he wasn’t engaged to Pam, he would do Angela, and 3. When they all think that they have lost their jobs, Angela tells Roy that he is “very strong and capable”. Because Angela is with Roy, Dwight would date Erin, the only reason that he let’s Andy have Erin, is because Of the whole Andy/Dwight/Angela bit, but because in this timeline, Andy never dated Angela, Dwight would end up taking Erin.
Here is where it gets a bit sketchy... because Pam and Toby are together, he never leaves, which means that holly never gets transferred, which means that she doesn’t meet Michael, and they never fall in love, so Michael wouldn’t have met holly until she was already in love with AJ, but AJ can’t commit, so I think that they would’ve ended up together either way. Because Pam and Roy are together, Cece probably wouldn’t have gotten lice(Roy gets really rich off of gravel and cece would’ve gone to a different school) and because of this Val never askes Darryl to make it work long distance. Val would end up with Andy, both him and Darryl have similar mindsets, and in The way that Darryl flirts with Val, is similar to the way that Andy flirts with Erin.
This makes everyone’s ending better, Pam and Toby have a nice comfortable, if not boring life in Scranton, Jim and Karen move to philly, as soon as athlead starts (that’s just the kinda personality that Karen has) Darryl moves to philly and has his freedom, holly and micheal are still happy together, Roy and Angela are rich and Angela find the popularity and pride that she seeks in the gravel business, Dwight and Erin are happy because Erin is always taking about how she didn’t have her own stuff as a kid, and always had to fight the other orphans, now Erin can always have the very best, with Dwight managing a branch and owning a very large farm. Val can further her education at Cornell, Andy isn’t lonely
The end
TL:DR Jim and Karen Pam and Toby Angela and Roy Dwight and Erin Andy and Val

Why Jim and Pam are the worst couple in the Office The Office couples part 1

You might think Jim and Pam are the standard for tv couples well guess what your and I’m going to tell you why. 1 Pam was already In a relationship with Roy Jim shouldn’t have gone after Pam because she was already engaged to Roy
2 Jim bought his parents house without telling Pam You know if your thinking about buying a house for you and your wife it’s probably a good idea to talk to your wife first.
3 Jim kissed Pam on casino night Like I said in point 1 Pam was engaged to Roy Jim shouldn’t have kissed her now Pam is at fault too because she enjoyed the kiss and said I wanted to do that for a long time and Jim said me too.
4 When Pam finds out about Jim’s crush on her because Michael revivaled to the whole office Jim try’s to play if off as an old crush
5 When Jim went to start his company in Philadelphia it caused relationship issues between him and Pam because Pam wanted to stay in Scranton and Jim wanted to stay in Philadelphia He was being really selfish and putting his company over his wife and kids.
6 Jim didn’t show up to Pam’s art show now I know what your going to say Jim didn’t go to Pam’s art show because he was with Karen at the time to that i say Jim could still show up there’s nothing wrong with friends supporting friends.
7 Pam was jealous of Jim when he was with Karen seriously Pam you lost your chance with him move on there both better with off someone else
Bonus Jim told Michael he had a crush on Pam on the booze cruise we all know Michael is not good at keeping secrets
Conclusion Jim and Pam are not a good couple and better off with someone else if you want me to tell you why I think Dwight and Angela are The best couple in the office let me know in the replies and I will make a part 2 to this post anyway I would love to hear what you you think I would love to start a discussion in the comments below have a good day

Ranking The Seasons

So I’ve seen the Office 5 times all the way through, you know your average Office fan, and I think I’ve watched enough to rank all the seasons. Buckle up cause this is a long list. Sorry if my thoughts are all over the place here. Lemme know your rankings down below cause I’m curious.
9 Season 1
Ah yes the dreaded season 1. I know a lot of people like season 1, I do too. But season 1 is the reason a lot of my friends started and then very quickly stopped watching The Office. There’s literally memes about trying to convince you friends The Office gets better past season 1. The main reason this season is last is cause it’s not really The Office yet. It’s cringey, like the other seasons, but in the other seasons there’s heartwarming moments that at the end of the day no matter what the characters have done you still like them. Like Michael. Michael is just an idiot jerk in this season. Plus the hair. I can’t get over the hair. What even happened to Steve Carell’s hair in between seasons lol. Plus the episodes themselves aren’t great either, with the exceptions of Diversity Day and Basketball. But still enjoyable TV.
8 Season 8
So many people hate season 8. And for a reason. It’s definitely nowhere near peak Office. I think season 8 is just a smidge better than season 1. It benefits from already established characters and f it, Robert California was great. The writing just isn’t that good in this season though. Obviously they were still figuring out life without Michael. But Andy wasn’t the best manager, the believability factor was down, it wasn’t as funny, and there were some really bad moments. Poor Andy. Look at how they massacred my boy. I don’t hate Nellie like everyone else cause she redeemed herself in season 9, but I hate her here. There are some really good episodes though, I loved the Florida episodes, and the middle of the season with Trivia, Christmas Party, etc. was a high point. And my favorite episode from season 8, Pool Party. It’s like Dinner Party 2.0 but replace Michael and Jan with Robert.
7 Season 9
Season 9 was a lot better than season 8 imo. Clark was a nice addition, and they absolutely nailed the last few episodes. Who can watch the finale and not get emotional? There was a great Christmas episode with Dwight Christmas, but then again when are Christmas episodes not great? And am I the only one that loves Here Comes Treble? That episodes a guilty pleasure for me. And there’s Work Bus. That episode is hilarious. I don’t really mind the whole Jam-Pam marriage problem thing. To me it made it more realistic and interesting. Another thing I loved about this season is Dwight and Jim’s relationship evolving, and Dwight and Pam‘s friendship is sweet. Dwight and Angela is also an underrated relationship. Really shows you how much Dwight was carrying the show in a way. But this season isn’t without its negatives. There are a lot. They continue to butcher Andy’s character and make him a loser. Ruining Andy and then setting Erin up with Pete who’s basically a rip off Jim with little to no character (sorry it’s true) might have been my least favorite part of the entire show. I mean they saved Andy’s character a little bit near the end, but cmon. Plus there are some weak season 8 feeling episodes in here. To me this season is the most up and down of the series. But its definitely more enjoyable than season 8.
6 Season 6
Season 6 is a weird one because I honestly loved the first half of the season. Once we reach The Banker everything goes downhill. I like the first half maybe more than most people. For as unbelievable as Mafia was I thought that was hilarious, and when Michael had to go to the shareholder meeting that was priceless. Plus there’s classic episodes like Niagara, Secret Santa, Murder, and the dreaded Scott’s Tots (which I’ve only skipped twice suck on that). Michael dating Pam’s mom was a little weird but not a bad storyline. The second half of the season felt like they were running out of ideas. Well they had ideas, they just weren’t great. Sabre could have been done a little bit better, the Michael-Donna storyline wasn’t all that great, and St. Patrick’s Day and New Leads are kind of boring. Gabe and Jo are nice additions to the show though. Luckily things pick up in season 7.
5 Season 5
This is the last season where they were riding the wave of greatness from the insane run that was seasons 2-5. Idk how they managed to keep it so consistent and so funny for so long. At 28 episodes, season 5 does feel like it has some filler, particularly near the beginning. I wonder if it’s so long to make up for the writer’s strike in season 4. There’s not too much going on besides stuff with Michael and Holly. Things start to pick up in the middle of the season with some solid cringey episodes like The Duel and Prince Paper. Not to mention one of the best episodes of the series in Stress Relief. Then we go on a little Michael love quest with Lecture Circuit and Blood Drive. But the saving grace of this season comes near the end, with the Michael Scott Paper Company episodes. Whoever came up with that idea is a genius. The Michael-Pam-Ryan dynamic is so fun to see. And they end it off in a great way with Broke. Idris Elba was a dislikable character and really not that interesting though. But that’s ok cause he really didn’t have to be. He was set up as kind of an antagonist. Also I love how they show how good of a boss, despite his flaws, Michael really is. His methods somehow work. He creates a fun work environment that people love working in. Yes, they do love working there everyone says so in the finale. Then to close off the season we get Cafe Disco and Company Picnic which are both amazing. You really start to root for Michael and Holly. Overall a very solid season.
4 Season 7
Yes, I love season 7. I think it’s super underrated, so what sue me. No don’t sue me that’s the opposite of the point I was trying to make - Michael. I don’t just love season 7 for the Michael and Holly stuff. Even though it’s great. I think there’s tons of underrated episodes near the beginning like Counseling, The Sting, Christening, Viewing Party, WUPHF, I love all of those. Also Andy’s Play is one of my favorite episodes. Then there’s Classy Christmas which in my opinion is the best Christmas episode. Threat Level Midnight, Michael’s Last Dundies, I could go on. Even without Michael, they manage to end off season 7 really well. And it was fun to finally see Dwight as acting manager, it was exactly how you might think it would be. Plus Michael leaving was simultaneously heartbreaking and heartwarming. The show was pretty much doomed when he left. The only reason this season isn’t as good as season 2 is because the Jim-Pam dynamic isn’t there.
3 Season 2
Season 2 at 3? Yes. That’s not cause it’s not amazing, it’s just how good the other seasons are. This season is what people think of when you mention The Office. Jim and Pam, We’re still discovering that Michael isn’t a horrible boss, Jim pranking Dwight. All classic stuff. Plus it’s super funny. The injury is one of the funniest Office episodes. I can’t tell you how hard I laughed when Michael put down “taking someone to the hospital” on the fill out sheet. There isn’t really an episode that falls below an 8 out of 10. Plus it’s cool to see everyone evolve and really get into character. The best episodes of this season are when something major happens with Jim and Pam like Booze Cruise or Casino Night. Such a great cliffhanger in Casino Night. The show starts to go from decent to great with The Dundies, Office Olympics, and The Fire. The Client is also great. All around super solid.
2 Season 3
Season 3 takes everything from season 2 and makes it better. More solid episodes, it’s more consistent, it’s funnier, it’s more creative. The only complaint I have with season 2 is Jim and Pam’s friendship isn’t really there cause of the transfer, but whatever. The whole different branches dynamic is great and makes the episodes more interesting. Also we get to see Andy before he became the Andy we know throughout most of the show. Karen was a cool character but she was really just a tool to cause friction between Jim and Pam and keep them apart for longer. That’s a big thing in this season is using suspense and tension. Beach Games and The Job are an excellent finale. I could list all the episodes and how much I like them but we’d be here all day. Amazing season.
1 Season 4
And finally the best season and my favorite episodes of TV ever, season 4. The main reason why I think season 4 is the best is cause it’s so consistent. From the beginning with Fun Run, to Night Out, most of the episodes are 10/10. And that stretch of episodes also has Dinner Party, the best episode in the series. A lot of people don’t like season 4 as much as 2 or 3 because they put Jim and Pam together, but to me this season shows how good this show can be even without the tension between Jim and Pam. Plus it’s nice to finally see them dating. Ryan being the boss makes for some incredible moments. That was a great pick for that job by the writers. Michael and Jan’s dysfunctional relationship is gold. We see it bending throughout until it finally snaps in Dinner Party. The 40 minute episodes were a good change of pace and made for a great start to the season. You could point out so many memorable moments. Michael drives his car into an fing lake, they do a 5k for a disease that’s already been cured, Jim and Pam stay at Dwight’s farm overnight. And that’s just in the first four episodes. The only two episodes that I didn’t love came at the end of the season, Did I Stutter and Job Fair. Did I Stutter has some great moments, I just don’t think it lives up to the other episodes. Job Fair is pretty good but there’s kind of a lackluster B plot in the golfing trip and a pretty funny plot with Michael, Oscar, Pam, Daryl, whoever was at the job fair. But it picks back up with a great final episode in Goodbye Toby. This is the episode where Holly is introduced and it’s executed perfectly. It would have been cool to see more episodes in this season but I’m not complaining cause we only got good stuff with the 14 episodes we got. Plus the long episodes kind of made up for it. Let me know your list!
